ABOUT SALLY CARBON

Sally was born in Perth, Western Australia, where she has lived all her life, minus five years in Melbourne, Victoria - the other side of Australia four hours away by plane.

She was lucky enough to travel from the age of 17 through to 29 with the Australian junior and senior hockey teams. She travelled everywhere around the world, especially to Amsterdam to compete against the mighty Dutch hockey team. Sally was a sporty kid: WA ballet, state level softball, national competition for athletics, school swimming and athletics captain, and junior and senior state and national hockey teams. Her parents say Sally was head-hunted by a German gymnastic coach at the age of five, to relocate and train in the German gymnastics team, however this may be a case of parents’ showing signs of curious and inflated hyperbole. Needless to say, Sally’s blood isn’t red---nope, she bleeds green and gold. She played hockey for Australia, at two World Cups and two Olympic Games. This means she’s an Olympic and World Cup gold medallist.

Sally managed to concentrate, just enough, to graduate from school to University (to do maths and sport), go there again, and again, and again---well you know, the art of continual learning.  She’s a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and sits on numerous boards. She runs her own business strategy company. She mentors many who are transitioning from sport through to a working career and has written six kids books. She’s married to a sporting coach and high performance manager, and has three big bold kids. Sally’s been awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to Australian sport. She’s busy, but that is by choice.

Sally wants to live an interesting life. She’s written these books purely for her reader’s entertainment…and to expose the unique energy bottled up in Australia.
